Ecotourism is about uniting conservation, communities, and sustainable travel, it involves responsible travel to natural areas that conserve the environment, sustaining the well-being of the local people and wild animals. Ecotourism has been the savior for wildlife and ecosystems. Birdwatching offers one of the most memorable and enriching experiences in ecotourism.

Birding, the practice of watching birds in their natural habitats, contributes significantly to conservation by increasing public awareness and engagement. Birdwatching can also function as a monitoring activity for the birds around the area. We could appreciate the beauty of birds by observing them in the wild, not by keeping them inside a small cage and keeping them as a pet.

FLIGHT offers the facilitation of Birdwatching package to the Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park (Tahura WAR), Lampung, Sumatra.

Wan Abdul Rahman Grand Forest Park is a state forest area designated for conservation and protection purposes. Initially, this area was designated as a Protection Forest, with an area of 22,249.31 Ha, which later stated that the Register 19 area of Mount Betung changed its function from Protected Forest to Conservation Forest Area. Tahura WAR is also one of the places where we released rescued birds.

Tahura WAR also has a fairly abundant animal diversity. Some of the animals that can be found in Tahura WAR are Siamang, Long-tailed Macaque, Southern Pig-tailed Macaque, Black-crested Sumatran Langur, Black Giant Squirrel, and numerous species of birds such as Changeable Hawk-eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle, Sooty-headed Bulbuls, Yellow-vented Bulbuls, and even Hornbill.

Besides its rich biodiversity, Tahura WAR offers visitors beautiful waterfalls and a campground. Our FLIGHT team operates a Wildlife Monitoring Post here, allowing us to observe animals up close, and the view from this post is truly stunning!

So, what are you waiting for?

Let’s join our birdwatching package at the Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park in Lampung! All profits from this activity will be directly donated to wildlife protection activities, especially wild birds.
