Hundreds of 3rd Fleet Forces Command (Koarmada III) consisting of Field Officers, Subaltern Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Enlisted Men and Civil Servants of Koarmada III received Socialization on Plant and Wildlife Conservation by the West Papua Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA) which was held at the Maspardi Multipurpose Building, Koarmada III Katapop, Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua. Head of the Legal Service of Fleet Command III, Captain (H) Abdul Halid Sabale, S.H. who represented the Commander of 3rd Fleet Command (Pangkoarmada) III Rear Admiral TNI Hersan, S.H., M.Si., M.Tr.Opsla. said that this socialization was to increase synergy between agencies in protecting and preserving Wild Plants and Animals in the West Papua region so as to minimize the occurrence of trade, hunting and smuggling of protected Wild Plants and Animals (TSL).

The activity continued with a socialization by the Head of the West Papua BBKSDA Technical Division, Tasliman, S.P., M.P with the material of Supervision and Control of Wildlife and Plant Distribution in West Papua. Tasliman also conveyed several things so that the soldiers are more familiar with and understand the types of protected plants and animals.

It is hoped that this socialization activity can expand the range of education on protected plant and animal species and will have a positive impact on the preservation of nature, especially in West Papua.

This activity was organized in collaboration between the West Papua KSDA Center, 3rd Fleet Command and FLIGHT: Protecting Indonesia’s Birds.
