These birds originated from Padang and was destined for Bekasi, West Java . When we found them, the birds were in the back of a passenger vehicle in small boxes with no food or water and only small air holes to breathe from. These birds will be released back into the wild shortly.
Greater Green leafbirds are listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN redlist and are protected under Indonesia’s law.
