Flight successfully assisted a joint operation with Aceh Regional Police Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation , Republic of Indonesia Police Security Intelligence Agency, and Directorate General of Forest and Environment Law Enforcement in arresting the protected wildlife trader as well as confiscating 71 helmeted hornbill casques, 28 kilograms of pangolin scales, and the skins and bones of a Sumatran tiger worth Rp 6.3 billion.
Two people were arrested, namely DA and LH by officers at Jalan Lintas Bireuen Takengon, Central Aceh, on Tuesday (3/11) at around 16.30 WIB.
Both were charged under Article 21 Paragraph 2 Letter d Jo Article 40 Paragraph 2 of Law No. 5 Year 1990 regarding Conservation of Living Natural Resources and their Ecosystems. The traders faced imprisonment for a maximum of 5 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 100 million.
