Ecotourism is about uniting conservation, communities, and sustainable travel. Ecotourism involves responsible travel to natural areas that conserve the environment, sustaining the well-being of the local people and wild animals. Ecotourism has been the savior for wildlife and ecosystems. One of the best experiences you can get in ecotourism is Birding or Birdwatching.
Birdwatching is the act of observing and identifying birds in their native habitats. Birdwatching/Birding is important for the conservation of birds. Birdwatching can also function as a monitoring activity for the birds around the area. We could appreciate the beauty of birds by observing them in the wild, not by keeping them inside a small cage and keeping them as a pet.
FLIGHT offers the facilitation of Birdwatching package to the Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park (Tahura WAR), Lampung, Sumatra.
Wan Abdul Rahman Grand Forest Park is a state forest area designated for conservation and protection purposes. Initially, this area was designated as a Protection Forest, with an area of 22,249.31 ha, which updated later, stated that the Register 19 area of Mount Betung changed its function from Protected Forest to
Conservation Forest Area. Tahura WAR is also one of the places where we released rescued birds.
Tahura WAR also has a fairly abundant animals diversity. Some of the animals that can be found in Tahura WAR are Siamang, Long-tailed Macaque, Southern Pig-tailed Macaque, Black-crested Sumatran Langur, Black Giant Squirrel, and numerous species of birds such as Changeable Hawk-eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle, Soothy-headed Bulbuls, Yellow-vented Bulbuls, and even Hornbill.
Not only that Tahura WAR got rich biodiversity, but this place also offers you tourist attractions such as waterfalls, a campground, and also deer farm. We (FLIGHT) also got a Wildlife Monitoring Post to help us monitor wild animals while settling down. In fact, the view from our monitoring post is breathtakingly stunning!
So, what are you waiting for?
Let’s join our birdwatching package at the Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park in Lampung! All profits from this activity will be donated to wildlife protection activities, especially wild birds.
