On November 18, we inaugurated a reading house in Cisalimar sub village, Cipeteuy village, Kabandungan District, Sukabumi, West Java. We equipped the house with books about the importance of protecting nature and biodiversity. The village borders Halimun-Salak Mountain National Park, which is rich in biodiversity. Some residents in this village work actively as bird poachers

It is sad to see these children, living on the border of the forest, working as poachers. A child describes how he poaches the birds, using glue. Birds are sold at USD$2.

We have built a reading house here, to teach the villagers about the importance of conservation and animal welfare.

Some children cannot read and write, but they look happy and enthusiastic about learning.
