On Saturday, October 23rd this month, FLIGHT assisted the Police and Quarantine Officers to thwart a smuggling attempt of more than 2000 wild birds in Banyuwangi, East Java. Based on the information, the wild birds were going to be delivered to Pasuruan from Lombok. They were brought using a Fuso Truck.

More than 2000 birds were contained inside plastic and card boxes. Some of the species brought were including Horsfield’s Bushlark (Mirafra javanica), Long-tailed Shrike (Lanius schach), Pied Bushchat (Saxicola caprata), Chesnut-backed Thrush (Geokichla dohertyi), Cinereous Tit (Parus cinereus), Thick-billed White-eye (Heleia crassirostris), Timor Zebra Finch (Taeniopygia guttata), and Lemon-bellied White-eye (Zosterops chloris maxi).
